The Rutgers University Debate Union had a rewarding tournament at Carnegie Mellon University this past weekend!
Sean Leonard ’16 and Quinn Maingi ’15 formed one team and George Alukal ’15 and Russell Potter ’15 formed another. Both teams broke into quarterfinals, where Leonard and Maingi defeated a team from Franklin and Marshall College and advanced into semifinals. Leonard and Maingi finished as 4th team overall and Alukal and Potter won 6th team.
Next weekend, the debaters will be traveling into the city at New York University to attend the North American Debate Championships where they will face not only their fellow American debaters but also competitors from the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate.
